If you’re not going: Go to the Book Fair this weekend.

A small plea to those who don’t intend on going:

Go to the book fair.

Wonder aimlessly.

Pick a panel at random.

Or pick one that sounds remotely interesting. You can’t lose with so much talent crawling around this weekend.

An author is going to surprise you. Win you over. Make you want to read a work you didn’t know existed, or didn’t know you had an interest in.

Or stagger around the street fair. Buy a cheap copy of that work you heard other people talking about, but bothered to read a line of.

This is the best event in Miami. Not just today, all year.

Books and Books doesn’t need Newshole[DOT]info to pimp their event. They’ll be making fist-fulls this weekend as they sell brand-new, list priced copies that are conveniently located near the signing author. What a racket. (Buy an ad you guys, I’ll give you a special rate of my admission fee.)

But it’s a good racket. We all get a taste; organizers; publishers; authors; readers.

By mere osmosis you’ll walk away with something.
